Lauren Howard

Hey hotshots (: My name is Lauren, and I'm from a small town in Michigan, 30 mins from Detroit. I'm a Chicago-based pop/rock artist with a blend of the sounds of 70s rock & 80s pop. My debut album, Retrospect, is finally out, after years of writing, producing, and obessing over every little detail to make it perfect. 

With each song release, live video, and new project I start, it always brings me back to the little girl in her hot pink room, writing songs and stories with the dream to one day to be just like the people she idolized. Whether I was learning every dance to every Disney Channel Original Movie or watching music videos on MTV before school, I was determined to soak up everything I could so one day I could make music of my own.

Songwriting has been a constant throughout my life. I danced for 20 years, spent 10 years in theatre and voice lessons, and even went to college for Musical Theatre, but nothing has made me feel more myself than documenting my life through songs. So after college, I finally learned guitar and decided to teach myself how to use logic to make demos. 6 months later, I wrote everything that you can now hear on the album, and connected with a producer to finally bring these songs to life. After recording the album and learning so much about production, I went back to my home studio and wrote 15 more songs. This then led to us recording 3 more songs to release before the album, which I tracked & produced all my own vocals on.

Last year, I released 3 singles, an 11 track album, got my band together, recorded live videos with them, and shot my first music video! Me and the band are playing live shows all around Chicago and we can't wait for you to hear the fun live versions we created!
